Synopsis: A charming illusionist, an adventurous queen of hearts and an evil green man journey through early cinema, film magic and love. Back to the Moon is an animated, interactive short celebrating the artistry of French film director and magician Georges Melies.
Biography: Fx Goby’s vibrant journey in the industry began with his graduation from Supinfocom university. His animated short ‘En Tus Brazos’ received multiple international awards and set the tone for the years to come at Nexus Studios. Since his signing in 2009, Fx has created charming and engaging films using a wide range of techniques including 2D/3D animation, stop frame, live action and special effects. His contagiously bright personality is reflected in his diverse work for global brands like Coca Cola, in quirky short films including ‘Pest’ and dreamy music videos like ‘Skies turn Gold’ for ‘The Ramona Flowers’. His short film ‘To Build a Fire’ premiered in 2017, winning the Oscar qualifying Grand Prix at the Rhode Island International Film Festival and in the same year he created the charming animated film which introduced the annual Google I/O developers conference. Fx co-directed ‘Back to the Moon’ with Hélène Leroux, the first ever VR enabled, 360 Google Doodle & Spotlight Stories collaboration, that celebrated the pioneer and filmmaker Georges Méliés. ‘Back to the Moon’ received multiple nominations for awards such as the Emmys and the Annies, as well as featuring in high-profile festivals such as Annecy 2018 and Clermont-Ferrand. Most recently Fx directed The Ride for Google Assistant. A full sizerollercoaster to promote the capabilities of Google Assistant that took CES 2019 by storm.
