1972, near Paris. Gilles and Christine are in the same class at a lycée in the western suburbs. Both children of divorced parents are left to fend for themselves. But while Gilles is protected by the affection and authority of his father, Christine is torn between her parents. Her mother lives with a former Algerian footballer whose Scientology beliefs she shares. And because of the precarious conditions of his life, he has lost legal custody of Christine. Her father, worried about his daughter’s mental state, has decided to have her placed in a nursing home by force if necessary. The only opening in Christine’s life is the love between her and Gilles, but Gilles is still leaning towards childhood to take on the seriousness of the situation. One night, however, he will have to choose.
