Amarcorti 2025: triumph for “Phantom” by Gabriele Manzoni.<\/b><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

With the conclusion of the 29<\/span>a<\/span> edition of the Umbria Film Festival, the curtain also closed on our International Short Film Competition, <\/span>Amarcorti<\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

After careful evaluation of all the short films in the competition, the jury declared the winner to be <\/span>Phantom<\/b><\/a>, by Gabriele Manzoni, \u00a0the winner who thus won not only the prestigious trophy, a splendid creation by Rometti Ceramiche, but also the cash prize kindly offered by Connesi S.p.a.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

This was the jury’s motivation for Manzoni’s short film:<\/b><\/p>

Bold and confident writing, along with solid direction, manage to portray a story of youthful hardship in the urban outskirts with great humanity and originality<\/span>. <\/span><\/i><\/p>

Special mention goes to the outstanding performance by Daniel Fornaro and the entire cast.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The jury also wanted to recognize the value of two other shorts in competition with well-deserved special mentions.<\/b><\/p>

Upshot<\/b><\/a> by Maha Haj <\/span><\/p>

How to withstand the pain of loss? Upshot tells the story of a couple devastated by the Israeli occupation through a surprising narrative device. The interweaving of words and the necessity of imagination weave a net for the protagonists, to protect them from the abyss of grief.<\/span><\/p>

For the sensitivity of the gaze and direction, and for the actors, capable of a nuanced and deeply human performance.<\/span><\/p>
