UMBRIA FILM FESTIVAL 8-13 LUGLIO 2025

Umbria Film Festival

Amarcorti Winners

Amarcorti 2025: triumph for “Phantom” by Gabriele Manzoni.

With the conclusion of the 29a edition of the Umbria Film Festival, the curtain also closed on our International Short Film Competition, Amarcorti.

After careful evaluation of all the short films in the competition, the jury declared the winner to be Phantom, by Gabriele Manzoni,  the winner who thus won not only the prestigious trophy, a splendid creation by Rometti Ceramiche, but also the cash prize kindly offered by Connesi S.p.a.

This was the jury’s motivation for Manzoni’s short film:

Bold and confident writing, along with solid direction, manage to portray a story of youthful hardship in the urban outskirts with great humanity and originality.

Special mention goes to the outstanding performance by Daniel Fornaro and the entire cast.

The jury also wanted to recognize the value of two other shorts in competition with well-deserved special mentions.

Upshot by Maha Haj

How to withstand the pain of loss? Upshot tells the story of a couple devastated by the Israeli occupation through a surprising narrative device. The interweaving of words and the necessity of imagination weave a net for the protagonists, to protect them from the abyss of grief.

Annegeerdardardor by Christoffer Rizvanovic Stenbakken

For the sensitivity of the gaze and direction, and for the actors, capable of a nuanced and deeply human performance.

Each director and author in attendance received as a gift a unique work of art in real ceramic, signed by Rometti, a tangible memento of this unforgettable edition.

Special thanks goes to all Amarcorti participants and those who helped make this exciting edition possible.
