The Association

The Umbria Film Festival Association was founded in 1995 and has been organizing the UMBRIA FILM FESTIVAL in Montone together with the Municipality since 1997.
Created to promote film culture in all its forms, with particular attention to new world cinema, among its many activities it also deals with side events (exhibitions, concerts, seminars, etc.) and training for industry professionals.
Its numerous members are cinema enthusiasts who follow us from Italy and abroad. We are supported by national and international cultural figures who have chosen Umbria, and the Upper Tiber Valley in particular, as their land of choice.
Thanks to the national and international vocation that was at the basis of its inception, the Association has woven a network of connections and collaborations that have contributed to enriching its cultural offerings over the years.

At an international level

We have established robust partnerships with Riverside Studios in London, the Melbourne International Film Festival, and the Danish Film Institute.

03

At a national level

We are actively involved in the initiatives of the Italian Film Festivals Association (AFIC), founded in 2004, which serves as a coordination and information tool for film festivals that focus on research, originality, and the promotion of both national and international talents and cinematic works. We have also established a collaboration with the University of Turin and the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, hosting students for training sessions dedicated to translation and soft-titling, thus providing a concrete opportunity for education and professional development in the field of cinematography.

04

At a regional level

We collaborate with the Leonardo da Vinci Campus in Umbertide, hosting school-to-work programs that offer students the opportunity to do translations and join the staff during the festival, interacting with professionals and participants from around the world. Additionally, we are founding members of the Umbria Film Festival Network, an initiative that brings together the region's festivals to promote film culture and foster collaboration between events and local organizations.
