The Umbria Film Festival Association was founded in 1995 and has been organizing the UMBRIA FILM FESTIVAL in Montone together with the Municipality since 1997.
Created to promote film culture in all its forms, with particular attention to new world cinema, among its many activities it also deals with side events (exhibitions, concerts, seminars, etc.) and training for industry professionals.
Its numerous members are cinema enthusiasts who follow us from Italy and abroad. We are supported by national and international cultural figures who have chosen Umbria, and the Upper Tiber Valley in particular, as their land of choice.
Thanks to the national and international vocation that was at the basis of its inception, the Association has woven a network of connections and collaborations that have contributed to enriching its cultural offerings over the years.

Purpose of the Association
To promote and spread culture, with a particular focus on cinematic art. To make Montone and Umbria "a unique opportunity among all festivals, where international filmmakers mingle with locals to discuss cinema, literature, and poetry."

At the International Level
We have strengthened our long-standing collaborations with Riverside Studios in London, the Melbourne International Film Festival, and the Danish Film Institute.
At the National Level
We are an active part of the initiatives of the Italian Film Festival Association (AFIC), founded in 2004 as a coordination and mutual information tool for film festivals characterized by research, originality, and the promotion of talent and national and international films. We have established a partnership with the University of Turin and the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, hosting students for training in translation and soft-titling.
At the Regional Level
We collaborate with the Leonardo da Vinci Campus in Umbertide, hosting school-to-work programs, offering students the opportunity to translate and engage with people from all over the world. We are also founding members of the Umbrian Film Festival Network.
