Get ready for a truly special opening night at the 29th edition of the Umbria Film Festival, which is celebrating a unique birthday this year! On Tuesday, July 8, we’re kicking off the Festival with a tribute to a very famous dog who has inspired generations of children: Pimpa is turning a remarkable 50 years old!
We’ve decided to entrust the Montoons (the films and animations for younger audiences that traditionally open our evenings) with the honor of inaugurating the Festival, specifically to celebrate this special anniversary.
Director Enzo D’Alò will join us. He’s the artist who transformed stories created by Altan into true animated masterpieces for RAI, which were then distributed worldwide. He will personally guide us through a selection of Pimpa short films, chosen to start this cinematic journey in the best possible way.
The evening begins at 7:00 PM in Piazza Fortebraccio with the presentation of the Keys to the City to Enzo D’Alò, in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to the world of animation and culture.
We’ll then move to 9:00 PM in Piazza San Francesco, where we’ll have the pleasure of screening “Forti da Morire – A scoprir le comete”. This short film was made with great dedication and creativity by the students of the “Giuseppe Polidori” Middle School in Montone, and we’re sure it will move you.
Immediately following, still with Enzo D’Alò, we’ll dive into Pimpa’s colorful world.
We look forward to seeing you for an evening full of magic, emotions… and a touch of nostalgia!
