

Umbria Film Festival is pleased to announce Maria Teresa Cavina as her new Artistic Director.
Known in the national and international movie scene, Maria Teresa Cavina has a distinguished career that includes, among her many achievements: the selections of films at the Venice Film Festival and the relations with international delegations (1988-1997); also, she has been deputy manager for the Locarno Film Festival (2001-2005), co-founder and artistic co-director of the Rome International Film Festival (2005-2008), artistic director of FIPA – Biarritz (2009-2011) and programming director of Abu Dhabi Festival (2009-2015).
Currently, she is consultant of “Giornate degli Autori” and is senior programmer at El Gouna Film Festival. She collaborates as an expert with several foundations: Doha Film Institute (Qatar), Red Sea Film Fund (Arabia Saudita) Sarajevo Film Festival. She is a mentor and member of the Jury of the Solinas Prize.
Maria Teresa Cavina has been working for the 29th edition of the Umbria Film Festival, alongside Sergio Sozzo, historic signature of Sentieri Selvaggi, Ivan Frenguelli and Giacomo Caldarelli, programmers of PostModernissimo.
The artistic direction works in a closer synergy with the completely renewed executive board. Michela Paganelli, lawyer and expert in management, has been appointed as the President of the Association. With this new organization, the Festival is ready to welcome its audience and many special guests.
The goal is clear: to showcase the best of film culture and entertainment in one of the most beautiful villages of Italy, Montone. A unique experience that blends art, culture and respect for the territory, thanks to the sincere collaboration with the Municipality, its inhabitants, public and private institutions.
