Francesco Virga is a senior producer and key figure at MIR Cinematografica, an independent production
company founded in Milan. Through this reality, he has created works capable of establishing themselves
at the most important international festivals, from Venice to Cannes, up to Locarno and Toronto.
Among the most relevant projects are: For one more hour with you (Special Jury Mention at the Locarno Film
Festival 2002), We Want Roses Too (nominated for a David di Donatello Award) and All About You (Taodue
Award for Best First/Second Work at the Rome Film Festival 2012).
Libera nos (2016), an acclaimed work that won the Best Film Award in the Orizzonti section at the 73rd
Venice International Film Festival.
In addition to his work on set and in the production office, Virga is a point of reference for the policies and
protection of independent cinema: President of Doc/it in 2021 and official member of the European Film
Academy (EFA) and the European Producers Club (EPC).
