Elio Germano
Elio Germano (Rome, 1980) is one of the most talented and award-winning actors in contemporary Italian
cinema.
Famous for his extraordinary ability to transform physically and psychologically, he is one of the
very few Italian actors to have won the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival and the Silver Bear in
Berlin. During his career he also collected four David di Donatello Awards. My Brother Is an Only Child (2007)
gives him his first David di Donatello and consecrates him nationally. Our Life (2010): For this performance
he won the prestigious Prix d’interprétation masculine at the Cannes Film Festival and his second David di
Donatello. The Fabulous Young Man (2014): Playing Giacomo Leopardi, he wins his third David di Donatello.
I Wanted to Hide (2020): He transforms into the painter Antonio Ligabue. His impressive acting performance
earned him the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival and his fourth David di Donatello.
Elio Germano is also known for his political commitment to film industry workers.
